Guemes Island House & Studio

Located on Guemes Island’s south facing high bank waterfront property, the single story design extends 103 feet parallel to the bank, capturing maximal views and sunlight. Living, Dining, Office and Bedrooms with co-joining Bathrooms are located on the south side with water views. The open floor plan extends the southern view back to the north side Kitchen as well. Twenty-nine feet of operable window walls open the indoor rooms onto a multi-level deck. Above, sunlight through clerestory windows extend into the interior spaces. Secondary spaces such as the TV Room, Vanity, Dressing Room and utility spaces have been located on the north side of the house.

Metal siding was chosen for it’s durability and low maintenance. The house has concrete floors heated by an air-to-water, in-floor heat pump system. Rainwater collected from the roofs is used for gardening and landscape planting.

A Weaving Studio/ADU building is sited to the west of the house with a deck and views to the south as well.
